Farmer in Vizag dies due to depression on governement land pooling

Devastated on land pooling by the government, a farmer belonging to Nanginarapadu Mandal in Vizag dies after suffering from a severe heart attack.

The government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to construct a satellite township at trijunction of Gajuwaka, Parawada, and Sabbavaram. Land pooling from the farmers is required for the construction area. 65-year-old Tatarao owns a small land that comes under the area of land pooling. On Tuesday, when the officials visited his land for pooling, the farmer went to meet them. The farmer was devastated as he was offered land in yards when his land was being pooled in acres. While questioning the officials, Tatarao suffered a heart attack and died while being taken to the hospital.

The villagers reported that Tatarao went into depression when the government officials first offered 400 yards and then decreased it to 250 yards. District Farmers Association leader, P Seshuratnam said that the government is not granting proper lands to the farmers. He also mentioned that they would carry Tatarao’s corpse to the Collector’s office until justice is done to Tatarao’s family.
