In a shocking case of crime of passion, a girl’s father was murdered by a jilted lover. This shocking murder occurred on July 27th. The dead body of the deceased Pyda Rao was found near Pentamamba temple in Pedagantyada. The motive behind the crime was the deceased’s daughter, whom the accused wanted to marry.
The accused has been identified as Lakshmana Rao, 27 years of age hailing from Parvathipuram in Vizianagaram. He was a resident off the same neighborhood as the deceased. He had been residing in the same neighborhood since 1 year. He had been pursuing the girl for a very long time. He had even asked her hand for marriage but the girl had declined. He had been following the girl since long and had made many overtures.
The accused was unemployed and he thought that he could end his financial troubles through marriage. The girl in question, Divya had repeatedly refused the marriage proposal with him. The accused thought that with the father absent from the picture, the girl would agree.
Crime: The accused had befriended Pyda Rao over some time. He invited the deceased for a drink and that was the trap. After some time, the accused used a hammer for a murder weapon. He had kept it ready and hit Pyda Rao on the head many times. Death was instantaneous.
Report: Police investigations got a lead through the girl’s statement. Her suspicions on the accused were well found. The police called him in for questioning where he eventually revealed his crime.
