1,399 vehicles booked in Vizag so far for having unauthorised stickers on them

In a bid to ensure that no one is violating the new traffic guidelines, Vizag city traffic police have been conducting regular vehicle checks. As part of these checks, the traffic police are ensuring vehicles don’t have any unauthorised stickers, customised design number plates, high beam lights, tinted glass or any other illegal object. So far, close to 60,000 vehicles have been booked in Visakhapatnam from 10 September 2021 for having customised design number plates.

From September 2021 onwards, 1,399 vehicles in the district were booked for having unauthorised stickers on them. A majority of them, about 900 were found having unauthorised police or press stickers. 170 vehicles also had unauthorised defence stickers on them.

Meanwhile, 821 vehicles have been reprimanded for having horns of loud volume. Over 5047 autorickshaws have been booked for overloading with passengers. In the same period, around 4,500 vehicles were caught in Vizag by the city police, having high beam lights on them. The number of four wheelers with tinted glass was much the same. 111 street vendors in the city were also charged for having sound systems with high pitch music.

The latest traffic guidelines from the Vizag Traffic Police are as follows:

#1 No vehicle should have unauthorized police stickers / press / MLA / MP stickers

#2 Vehicles should not have very loud, or musical, horns

#3 Vehicles should not have fancy number plates. If caught, fines will be imposed

#4 Street vendors should not use high pitch sounds in the market

#5 Vehicles are not allowed to use high beam lights

#6 Overloading of autos with passengers is strictly to be avoided
