In a latest, the ACB has caught top VUDA official with illegal assets worth 50 Crores in Visakhapatnam recently.

Additional Chief Urban Planner of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority, Pasuparthi Pradeep Kumar has been discovered with disproportionate assets to the tune of 50 crores. Anti-corruption Bureau officials have seized the properties i.e land, houses etc and assets such as cash, gold and more belonging to the VUDA official.

The official, 53 year old Pradeep Kumar had assumed charge of his office 2 weeks ago and if reports are to be believed, his transfer was after pulling some political strings. Corruption had enabled him to gather the illegal assets. ACB had conducted raids simultaneously at 12 places that included his office and residence in Visakhapatnam, houses of his elder son, father, wife’s sister, in-laws and friends. In other places such as Anantpur, Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Ongole, his relatives residences were raided.

Plot in Madhurwada, flat in Kirlampudi Layout in Visakhapatnam and another in Anantpur are in his name. Other properties and assets were in the name of his wife. Apart from lands and property there was 4.05 lakh in cash, 4 lakh bank balance, 18 lakhs in fixed deposits and 2 kgs gold and 12.5 kgs silver. ACB doesn’t mean to stop investigating and the official of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority has has his illegal assets seized already.

Kumar had enetered service as Town Planner in Guntakal, Anantapur in 1984 and had also worked as deputy city planner of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.
