It’s Sankranti time and Visakhapatnam seems to be buzzing with the festive vibes. With the arrival of the holiday season, the bus and railway stations in the city are being flocked by passengers.
To clear the festive buzz, Indian Railways will be running Suvidha Express between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam. On 11 January, the train will depart from Secunderabad at 4:30 pm and reach Visakhapatnam by 5 am on the following day. The train will halt at major stations like Kazipet, Khammam, Eluru, Tadepalligudem and Duvvada.
The passengers can choose between two varieties of the train. While the first variety consists of air-conditioned coaches, the second one is a mix of AC and general coaches.
Tickets shall be issued only for confirmed and RAC passengers and there is no provision for waiting list in the train. Last minute booking can also be done.
It should also be noted that while booking tickets, only a 50% refund is provided in the case of cancellation of tickets up to 6 hours before the departure of the train.
Apart from the Suvidha Express, the APSRTC Visakhapatnam unit will run nearly 25 special buses. The buses will operate from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Rajahmundry and Amalapuram. These special buses will run till the end of this month to help the tourists during the bustling festive season.
