Visakhapatnam to get Sea Harrier Aircraft Museum

The port city of Visakhapatnam is all set to embrace yet another museum that beckons its shores. Similar to the TU-142 aircraft museum, which was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind last year, a Sea Harrier Aircraft Museum will soon be adorning the city.

Visakhapatnam District Collector Pravin Kumar on Wednesday told the officials to the identity land and chalk out a plan in order to set up the Sea Harrier Aircraft Museum in the city.A meeting was held at the collectorate to review the status of various tourism projects that are slated to be developed in and around the city of Visakhapatnam. The collector said that plans were in place to establish Vizag as a major tourist hub. He also added that while the plans for the upcoming projects must be ready, those which are already underway must be completed by the end of March.

He asked the officials to submit a report detailing the hurdles being faced by them in regard to the land acquisition issues for the projects of setting up Buddhist circuit and Araku ecotourism. The status of other projects, such as establishing luxury cottages in Lambasingi and creating a safe swimming zone at Rushikonda, were also enquired by the collector.

Joint collector G.Srijana, Assistant Collector Misha Singh, and other officials were also present at the meeting.
