While debates continue as to the location of the Telugu Film Industry in Andhra Pradesh, between Visakhapatnam and Amaravati, the later may be the preferred choice.

Both locations, Visakhapatnam as well as Amaravati have been deemed ideal for location of the Telugu film industry but the debates are still on. While Vizag is a ready to use location, Amaravati has the potential for future growth and global development. But as it is emerging, Amaravati seems to be the preferred location. The AP Capital Region Development Authority APCRDA, have confirmed the proposal for setting up a world class studio in the future capital city.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N Chandrababu Naidu has clearly favored Amaravati as he is looking at it being among the top 5 cities in the world in future. APCRDA have spoken about a Media City which is to be constructed in Amaravati that would house a futuristic and global standard studio.

A lot of producers were divided over this and many as per reports had invested in studios and units in Visakhapatnam as well. This includes Daggubati Sureshbabu as well as Nandamuri Balakrishna who have found Visakhapatnam better suited. But as the discussions continue, it is quite likely, movie production units and studios will be developed here as well ( with the main industry located in the capital city) given the suitability of locations for shooting in the Port City.
