As per of the Navy Week celebrations in the Eastern Fleet stationed at Visakhapatnam, school children are invited on board capital warships which will be opened to visitors. On Sunday and Monday, capital war ships will be welcoming school children on board from different schools of the city. The timings of visiting these frontline war vessels is from 9 a.m to 5 p.m in the evening.
The school children can look forward to a guided tour on board these ships to get familiarity and knowledge and career counselling too. If your interest lies in a high flying career with Indian Navy then all your doubts will be cleared. For visiting, the children must wear their prescribed school uniform and have staff from the institution accompanying them. Only Indian Nationals are allowed on board for the visit.
the point of entry is the Pallava Gate near Satvahana Bus stop, Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam. Appropriate identification cards with photos such as school ids and AADHAR cards should be carried. Visitors are discouraged from carrying baggage, school bags, mobile phones, cameras, electronic storage devices etc. It is a wonderful opportunity for young minds to become aware of their country’s defense might and how a day in the life of one on board goes on.
