Bicycle Zone
With an increased impetus on safeguarding our environment, many people worldwide have started turning towards bicycles in order to do their bit in curbing the pollution. Also, experts have stated that riding a bicycle will prove beneficial for an individual’s health. Encouraging the same, Visakhapatnam’s governing bodies had introduced plans to facilitate feasible bicycle riding opportunities to the city’s people. Providing bicycles to ride for free during the mornings at the beach is a part of the same. A few years ago, the officials had even started providing bicycle rides at low cost at city’s VUDA central park.
Going ahead with the same initiative, Visakhapatnam is all geared up to come up with another feature like other cities in India. The city will be introducing a separate path for the bicycle riders so as to facilitate a convenient and a hassle-free flow. Taking this forward, a trail painting of the bicycle zone has been painted with epoxy material near Waltair Club’s East Gate. It has been learned that the cycling track is being laid as a part of the government’s ‘Smart Street Project’ for Visakhapatnam. This green strip on the street has been catching everyone’s eye and has already started intriguing the cycling enthusiasts.
When asked about the same, some of the citizens expressed happiness and congratulated the officials for coming up with such a noble initiative. They said its everyone’s responsibility to maintain Vizag’s sheen and protect its evergreen image of an eco-friendly city.
