Visakhapatnam Airport turns e Visa facility into a huge success

Visakhapatnam Airport has written yet another chapter of success. The recently introduced e Visa facility has turned into a huge success.

On a daily basis at least 3 or 4 foreign tourists are availing the e Visa facility at Visakhapatnam Airport. The facility for e Visa recently introduced here has turned into a major success for the airport and the city and a great ease for foreign tourists. People of 162 countries can take advantage of this facility and only 25 airports in India at present are giving the facility. Most of those coming in are tourists from Singapore and Malaysia, countries with direct flights service. As the popularity and knowledge grows, e Visa facility is guaranteed to have more flocking here.

Under the e Visa scheme, one can apply to travel to India minimum 4 days in advance to the date of arrival, with a window of 120 days. He will receive an email authorizing him for the same. The tourist only needs to take a printout of this authorization letter or Electronic Travel Authorization to go ahead with plans. Upon arrival all he has to do is produce this letter in front of the immigration authorities to be allowed entry into the country. That’s all. Easy as it sounds.The city is at par with metros who have the facility since before. e Visa has been divided into 3 categories which are – e Business Visa, e Tourist Visa and e Medical Visa.

Visakapatnam Airport will cater for the growing tourist footfalls in the city from abroad. Around 95,978 international tourists visited Visakhapatnam in 2017 and the 12 % increase is expected to see a bigger change this year.
