Kenneth Sebastian, fondly known as Kenny, brought a bag of giggles with him when he came to town to perform a show with Vizag Comedians and Nishant Joke Singh at The Park. Confused like any teenager and driven by dreams of being a filmmaker, the twenty-four-year-old Fine Arts graduate initially dabbled in theatre, music and improvisational comedy till he found his niche on the comedian stage. Later he ‘accidentally’ took part in a stand-up comedy competition at the Mood Indigo Fest and surprising himself, walked away with the first prize. Fast forward, he collaborated with a couple of other comedians and has been on the road for five years now. Going through his routines, he keeps the crowd engaged by improvising his script every time he goes on stage. However, what makes him click is his quirky ability to frame funny songs from the random words suggested by his audience.
He loves that his job takes him places. When asked about his affinity for the city, he shares that he had stayed here for a year when his father worked for the Navy and quite enjoys the refreshingly green scenic beauty Vizag has to offer. Ending the conversation after giving us bouts of laughter, he suggests aspiring comedians to have a premise before writing a script and believes that if the jokes aren’t funny on paper they won’t be on stage.
