Comedian Vijay Sai suicide: Actor’s wife and two others booked by Hyderabad Police

The Hyderabad police have booked Telugu actor Vijay Sai’s wife and two others on Monday after the actor committed suicide. The trio has been charged on the grounds of abetment to suicide.

The comedian, who acted in many films, is a well-recognised face among the Tollywood audience. Vijay shot to fame by working in popular Telugu films such as ‘Bommarillu’, ‘Party’, and, ‘Ammayilu Abbayilu’.

The details

Reportedly, the police have recovered a self-shot video from the phone of Vijay Sai, who hung himself in his apartment at Yousufguda in Hyderabad. It has also been learned that the comedian blamed his wife Vanitha and two others for driving him to take the fatal step. The police have sent the self-shot video for forensic examination.

While speaking to a News Channel, Vijay’s parents claimed that Vijay and his wife had differences between them for the past three years. They also said that the couple had a spat a few days ago which, they feel, might have prompted Vijay to take the fatal step.

On the complaint of Vijay’s father Subba Rao, the police have booked cases against Vijay’s wife Vanitha, lawyer Srinivas and Sashidhar. While the police are even investigating the relation between Vanitha and Sashidhar, they will also be interrogating the people who were contacted by Vijay before he killed himself.

Vanitha, however, dismissed the allegations against her and said that she did not understand why her husband resorted to the extreme.

Further insights into the case are awaited.
