A major greenfield aluminium casting and speciality alloy wheel manufacturing facility would be setup in Visakhapatnam by Synergies Castings, a leading aluminium alloy wheel manufacturer.
Announced on Tuesday, the company has said that it has signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government in the presence of Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Production of wheels
The new manufacturing facility by Synergies Castings in Visakhapatnam would produce around 2.4 million wheels annually and each wheel comprises of a standard 18” size which would constitute the most sophisticated casting, machining, painting facilities embedded with digital manufacturing technologies.
Synergies has been a part of Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone and has been supplying leading OEMs for 17 years not just in India but overseas as well.
Major auto hub
Andhra Pradesh has attracted an investment of about Rs 25000 crore in the auto sector. The state, emerging as a major auto hub in the country, holds auto companies like Korean Kia Motors, Japanese auto major Isuzu, two-wheeler major Hero Motocorp, Apollo tyres, Bharat Forge and Brakes India.
President of Synergies, Shekhar Movva, said that this venture would provide more than 2000 skilled jobs in Vizag.
