Simhachalam is all ready to conduct the annual Chandanotsavam on Wednesday, 18th April 2018.The Utsavam is celebrated on the day of Akshaya Tritiya.It is believed that Lord Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy, the temple’s deity, appears in his ‘Nijarupam’ (Real form) on this auspicious day. The lord, as a matter of fact, remains covered with four layers of chandanam during the rest of the year.
Around 2 lakh devotees are expected to turn up and worship the Lord.
‘Sarva Dharshan’ begins at 4 am while the protocol VIP Dharshan will be from 5 am to 6 am and 8 am to 9 am. The queues will be closed at 7 pm.The protocol VIP, VIP and 1000 Rs ticket devotees would be allowed only during the allocated timings. Entry to ‘Bhogamantapam’ will be closed at 3:30 am and the layering with sandalwood paste will commence at 11 am.
Parking space uphill is limited and vehicles of members with duty pass and protocol VIP pass will be allowed onto the Ghat road. 35 free buses travelling from Gosala Junction and old Adivavaram Junction will work on transporting the devotees to Simhachalam uphill from 3:00 am on Wednesday while the 1000 Rs ticket devotees will be transported in mini buses.
Darshan for differently abled people will commence from 12 pm to 2 pm on Wednesday.Each person will be allotted with one attendant and battery operated cars will run for those who cannot walk.
Voluntary organisations have made arrangements for water packets, snacks and beverages for the devotees. Considering the possibility of a huge turn out, medical facilities, ambulance and toilets will also be arranged so that the people would not face any problems.
