It has been reported that with an intention of streamlining the number of darshans, so as to restrict the frequent visitors, the officials have put forth the plan of tagging the ‘darshan’ ticket to Aadhar card. Endowments Minister Payidikondala Manikyala Rao said that this will help the first time visitors get priority and give them an opportunity to avail the darshan in a comparatively lesser time.
While mentioning the fact that the plan is still at the discussion stage and hasn’t been finalised yet, the minister said typically, a common man wouldn’t visit Tirumala more than two times in a year on an average. He said that on the other hand, as a result of certain influential devotees, who visited the temple frequently, common people had to wait in long queues for hours together before getting a glimpse of Lord Venkateswara.
The minister also added that the name of Endowments Department in Telugu was misleading. He informed that the government has decided to change the name to D
