As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence, the National Security Guard’s (NSG) “Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama – NSG Black Cat Car Rally”, left Vizag on Friday morning. This rally that reached Vizag on 14 October, 2021, visited the city that has been a focal point for the freedom fighters during the freedom struggle. The car rally was subsequently flagged off from here by the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) Chairman, K Rammohana Rao IAS, from the TU 142 Aircraft museum area, on the Beach Road in Vizag.
This “Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama – NSG Black Cat Car Rally” was initially flagged off from Lal Quila, New Delhi, by the Honourable Home Minister of India, Amit Shah on 2 October, 2021. This rally is chalked out to cover 7,500 kms and will be touching 18 major cities in 12 states of India. It is being held for 30 days from 2 October, 2021 to 30 October, 2021.
The All India Black Cat Car Rally is sponsored by Tata Motors and consists of 15 Tata Harrier SUVs driven by the elite NSG Commandos. 47 NSG commandos inclusive of 12 officers are part of the rally that is said to travel the entire country, passing through historic places associated with the freedom movement. The car rally is planned to culminate at the Police Memorial, New Delhi on 30 October, 2021.
It could be noted that a month ago, as part of the Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of India’s victory at the 1971 War on the Pakistani Armed Forces, the Victory Flame visited various schools in Visakhapatnam.
