Non-stop flight to begin from Vizag to Tirupati

As flight services at Visakhapatnam International Airport are returning to normal, good news arrives. A non-stop flight has been announced from Vizag to Tirupati, the temple city of Andhra Pradesh, and vice-versa. This flight is scheduled to begin operations from 16 December, 2021 onwards. Till now, it takes at least 6 hours for travellers to get from Vizag to Tirupati by air, due to layovers at other airports. But now, the travel time between these two holy cities has been reduced to 2 hours.

This non-stop flight from Vizag to Tirupati, and vice-versa, will be run by Indigo Airlines. Both the flights will run in the morning on a daily basis.

Visakhapatnam to Tirupati

This flight will take off from Visakhapatnam at 7 AM to land in Tirupati at 9 AM. Thus, the flight’s duration will be exactly 2 hours.

Tirupati to Visakhapatnam

This flight will take off from Tirupati at 9:20 AM to arrive in Visakhapatnam at 11:15 AM. Thus, this flight’s duration will be 1 hour 55 minutes.

The Visakhapatnam International Airport, the busiest in Andhra Pradesh, runs direct flights to New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, along with other cities like Kurnool, Vijayawada and Port Blair. Last month, a non-stop flight from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai was announced by SpiceJet. Next up, non-stop flights are expected to be launched to Ranchi & Udaipur as well. Also, a non-stop flight to Rajahmundry is also launching on 31 October 2021.

Earlier this month, Visakhapatnam Member of Parliament (MP), MVV Satyanarayana, had met with the Airport Advisory Committee to come up with a plan to relaunch international flights from Visakhapatnam International Airport.
