The three-day National Conference of Public Relations Society of India has taken off to a great start at Visakhapatnam with a whooping participation of nearly 300 delegates all over the country. The meet was inaugurated by Shri Ganta Srinivasa Rao, HRD Minister of AP Governement while K. Srinivasulu, Minister for Rural Housing and I&PR adressed the gathering. The conference venues are Novotel and Taj Gateway. Shri Ajit Pathak, National President, PRSI, Smt Nivedita Banerjee, Secretary, PRSI, Shri DVR Murthy, Conference Chairman, Shri US Sarma, Vice President (South), Shri PLK Murthy, Secretary, Visakhapatnam Chaper, BVVijay Prasad, NC Member are looking after the arrangements and more.
For all to know is that the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) is the national association of PR practitioners. It was established in 1958 to promote the recognition of public relations as a profession and to formulate and interpret to the public the objectives and the potentialities of public relations as a strategic management function.
The members of the society are public relations practitioners from Multinationals, Government Public and Private sector, Academics and PR consultant’s. The PRSI has 25 chapters across the country and 3000 members and Visakhapatnam Chapter is presently strengthened with above 100 active members. What a great news!!Conference Theme:
The theme of the conference is “Emerging India: Smart Citiy .Smart Communication”. The experts address on the theme. The Conference seeks to explore the significance of communication in the fast developing smart cities in India in the age of digital communication. Though traditional media like newspapers, radio and television cannot be set aside, the digital media impacts the society and facilitates instant communication.
