Multi-level car parking in Visakhapatnam to house 100 cars

The much-awaited multi-level car parking system is expected to provide a breather from the traffic woes in Visakhapatnam. Set to be constructed at with an investment of close to Rs 9.70 crores by the GVMC, the multi-level car parking system will be coming up at Jagadamba junction in the city.

If the construction works function in accordance with the plans chalked out by the officials, the facility would be operational in the next five months time, it has been reported.

Reportedly, the multi-level car parking system would be constructed over six storeys (G+5), with each storey expanding over 4000 sq. ft. The facility, which would be housing as many as 100 cars,, can be used by any class of cars. The hourly charges are expected to be around Rs 20 (can vary).

“The upcoming model is deemed to be the first of its kind in the Telugu states. Similar models currently exist in the cities of Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Pune. The multi-level car parking facility will help in solving the parking woes in Visakhapatnam. The facility will also help in easing out traffic congestion in the area. Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, will lay the foundation stone for the same within a week’s time,” Visakhapatnam South MLA, Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar was quoted as saying by Eenadu.
