In an exciting development, Littoral Cruises, a renowned Chennai-based cruise company, has revealed its plans to run a service between Chennai and Singapore via Visakhapatnam. The shipping company recently partook in the Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS), where its promoter, Raja Vaiz, signed an MoU with the VOC Port Authority, formerly Tuticorin Port Authority. This agreement highlighted the launch of this much-hyped cruise service via the City of Destiny.
Interacting with the media at the GMIS, Raja Vaiz communicated that Littoral Cruises Limited held discussions with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister RK Roja Selvamani. He expressed that Vizag’s expansive hills and Buddhist corridor make it a world-class tourist hub and a potential buzzing cruise destination. Further, Vaiz revealed plans to run a cruise service connecting India, Sri Lanka, and Maldives with a 1,200 crore investment.
Littoral Cruises Limited signed the MoU for the Chennai to Singapore via Visakhapatnam cruise in the presence of the Union Minister for Shipping, Waterways and Ports, Sarbananda Sonowal. It is already known that Minister Sonowal inaugurated a state-of-the-art international cruise terminal at the Visakhapatnam Port on 4 September 2023. He highlighted that the terminal will be a catalyst in promoting the beach city as a tourist hub.
