The Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), and Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), organised a mega job fair for the tribal youth of Visakhapatnam District. Over 17 multinational companies came forward to conduct interviews for interested candidates.
Regarding the event, ITDA Project Officer, R Gopalakrishna, said that the aim of this mega job fair is to create opportunities for the tribal youth in the Visakhapatnam Agency area. He added that the 17 MNC’s conducted interviews for 545 vacancies at the fair.
Mr Gopalakrishna, opined that it is difficult to get a placement offer in a competitive scenario, and advised the tribal youth to join and start working, once selected. He further added that ITDA is taking up the initiative to conduct a mega job fair every 15 days. Saying so, the project officer announced that a job fair will be organised in Paderu next month. Over 30 companies will conduct interviews for interested candidates.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, employment has been difficult to find and most people have had to do odd jobs to earn their livelihood. Even the governments have been unable to organise any job fairs for the people due to the prevailing circumstances. But now, with the situation improving, organisations and institutions are coming forward to organise job fairs in Visakhapatnam.
It could be noted that the National Career Service (NCS), which comes under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, conducted a job fair in Visakhapatnam on 22 October, 2021. This event witnessed 15 companies come and select candidates for 270 vacancies.
