Indian Defence Forces Gallant Evacuation Operation

Lord Hanuman is revered as the Lord of Infinite Protection. Therefore it is no wonder that the Indian Defence Forces chose to call their gallant evacuation operation the same.

At least 149 Indian nationals were evacuated from the war-torn South Sudan’s capital city Juba on Thursday. The evacuated, including women and infants, will reach Delhi on Friday morning after a halt in Thiruvananthapuram.

Minister of State for External Affairs, General VK Singh, a former Army chief, flew to Juba early Thursday morning with two C-17 Globemaster Indian Air Force aircrafts. He is leading the operation to evacuate more than 600 Indians stuck in the African country.
South Sudan had declared a ceasefire and the Indians there were in the hope that there would be no more fighting. However, the Ministry of External Affairs, did not want to take any chances and has therefore embarked off onto the evacuation mission.

Here,s wishing General V.K. Singh, his team and the Indian Government strength and courage in completing this mission over the next couple of days.

Jai Hanuman! Jai Hind!
