India-West Indies Visakhapatnam ODI tickets to go on sale soon

The tickets for the much-awaited India-West Indies ODI cricket match in at Dr Y.S Rajasekhar Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam will be going on sale from 15 October.

Addressing the reporters on Tuesday, Chairman of the match organisation committee and Port Chairman, M. Krishna Babu said that the stage is all set to host the two teams successfully. He informed that while the match will be played on 24 October, the squads will be arriving in Visakhapatnam on 22 October.

Of the total 27,500 seats in the stadium, a sum of 24,000 seats will be on sale for the general publich while the remaining will be allocated for complimentary passes. The tickets can either be availed online from www.eventsnow.com or purchased from any one of the 10 centres that will be selling them in the city. Depending on the stand, the tickets have been priced at Rs 4000, Rs 2500, Rs 2000, Rs 1200, Rs 800, Rs 750 and Rs 500.

The cricket match was originally supposed to be played at the Holkar stadium in Indore. However, a dispute between the BCCI and the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Board over complementary tickets called for a change of venue.

As per the BCCI’s new constitution, 90% of the total tickets need to be rendered for public sale while the remaining 10% can be handed out as complimentary tickets.

Visakhapatnam last played host to an ODI between India and Sri Lanka in December 2017. The game witnessed Shikhar Dhawan batter the Islanders with a blistering century as the home side cruised home to victory.

West Indies will play 5 ODIs against India starting on 21 October. The first cricket match in the 50-over format will be played in Guwahati. The two teams have currently locked horns in a two-match Test series, which began on 4 October in Rajkot.
