In another major collaboration, IIM Vizag has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). This MoU will create an academia-industry interface, including joint workshops, case studies and industrial exposure for the IIM-V students.
The MoU was signed by IIM Coordinator (Administration), Professor Neena Pandey, and HPCL Vizag General Manager (HR), K Nagesh. Director (HR) of HPCL Vizag, Dr. Pushp Kumar Joshi, was the Chief Guest for this event.
Speaking on the occasion, IIM-Vizag Professor, M Chandresekhar, said that the MoU will mark the beginning of a strong bond between IIM-V and HPCL. Additionally, Dr. Joshi shared how this partnership will help HPCL employees in learning digital skills and applying advanced sciences in their day-to-day operations.
At their end, HPCL will provide industrial exposure and training opportunities to IIM Vizag students. In return, IIM Visakhapatnam will provide short-term and long-term educational programmes for employees at HPCL so that they can improve their management and leadership skills. In this regard, surveys will be conducted by IIM-V staff to determine the requirements of HPCL employees in their management programmes.
Additionally, IIM-V students will also get to conduct case studies in the operational excellence and industrial impact of HPCL in India.
In September 2021, IIM Vizag had signed an MoU with Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) for research projects and training programmes.
