HPCL refinery distributes 72 oxygen concentrators in Vizag
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) – Visakha Refinery, provided 72 oxygen concentrators to 22 stakeholders in Vizag. This has been done as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Government of India initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence.
HPCL Director (HR), Pushp Kumar Joshi, handed over the oxygen concentrators in Vizag. King George Hospital (KGH), Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), Railway Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital, Government Chest Hospital, Gopalapatnam Government Hospital, were amongst the 22 recipients.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Joshi said that the services provided by the medical staff and the hospitals during the Covid pandemic contributed largely in saving the lives of millions of people. Further, he added that HPCL will continue to extend support towards the collective fight against Covid-19.
Recently, as part of the same national initiative, the National Security Guard’s (NSG) “Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama – NSG Black Cat Car Rally”, reached Visakhapatnam. The car rally was subsequently flagged off by the Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) Chairman, K Rammohana Rao IAS, from the TU 142 Aircraft Museum, on Beach Road in Vizag. This Black Cat Car Rally is sponsored by Tata Motors and consists of 15 Tata Harrier SUVs driven by the elite NSG Commandos. 47 NSG commandos, inclusive of 12 officers, are part of the rally that is said to travel the entire country, passing through historic places associated with the freedom movement. This rally is chalked out to cover 7,500 kms and will be touching 18 major cities in 12 states of India. It is being held for 30 days from 2 October, 2021 to 30 October, 2021.
