Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that IT giant Google will establish its centre in Visakhapatnam next month.
The Chief Minister made this announcement during a discussion on industries and infrastructure development at the Collectors’ conference held in Amaravati on 15 September.
Chandrababu Naidu further said: “The TCS is already in the process of setting up its unit in Visakhapatnam, while ArcelorMittal steel plant is all set to come up in the neighbouring Anakapalle district, along with Google establishing a centre in Visakhapatnam.”
Claiming that the North Andhra and Rayalaseema regions were competing in the aspect of development, the Chief Minister said that several industries would come up in Rayalaseema, while the region between Ananthapur and Kurnool would transform into a huge industrial hub.
Underlining the need for developing road connectivity between ports and airports, the Chief Minister called for steps to establish either a port or a harbour for every 50 km. Establishment of new airports would help the nearby regions become an economic hub, he opined.
