the fair
A two day exhibition-cum-sale – ‘The Fair’ has kick started today at the Hotel Palm Beach and there is lots for everyone. The good ladies of the Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan have brought fashion, home decor, kitchen goodies and special Rakhis for us under one roof. But what makes this event special is that it is an event with a cause. The Fair is a fund raiser and this year a part of the proceeds from the sale will go to Netra Vidyalaya. It is an organization that supports more than 100 visually challenged children. This year marks the 8th year in their endeavor. It is being inagurated by Shri K Nagendra who is Joint Commissioner of Tax.
25 stalls and all set up by women entrepreneurs. That is not all. The event is a social effort for supporting an organization that works for the underprivileged.
The highlights are:
Terracotta Pottery sourced from Gujurat. A huge range of kitchenware and other household goods.
Bonsai Plants for Green Gifting in various shapes and species.
Gun-metal decorative pieces from Odisha and Chattisgarh.
Finger puppets and paints and colorful, fun stationary for little ones.
Ethnic home linen range from bed sheets, table clothes, table covers etc
They are selling genuine hand crafted goods and sustainable gifts. The variety is huge and like Mrs. Alka Kumar, a member told us about it being an annual event, we do look forward to it. It’s happening right now. Go on and get shopping. This shopping will give zero regrets because your cash has a cause.
The exhibition is open on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
