250 Girijan youth from the state will be a part of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) being organised by the Andhra Pradesh chapter of the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Minister of Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu will inaugurate the programme today.

The event that took place on Thursday worked towards raising awareness amongst them for launching a business or industrial enterprise. President of the AP Chapter of DICCI, M Madhusudhana Rao stated that DICCI believes in encouraging unemployed youth and guiding them towards employment and a better future.

The three phase event is sponsored by TRICOR of Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh and CII. The first phase is an awareness programme.

The second phase consists of 15 days where those hand picked from the awareness programme based on their entrepreneurial abilities will be trained to identify business/industry registration procedures, market study, taxation, accounting and to create awareness about various incentives being offered by the government. By the end of these 15 days, the selected budding-entrepreneurs will have a fair idea of the project they will be taking up.

In the third phase, the candidates will be rigorously trained, consisting of visits to related industries, receiving mentorship, understanding their business requirements, preparation of project reports and convincing of bankers.
