School of Distance Education at AU To Be First Digital University in AP

In a world that is almost completely digitalised, with most of our world existing in laptops and cell phones, it is only natural that the education system get upgraded too. While the state government is looking to digitalise classrooms in government schools, the Andhra University doesn’t want to be left far behind. The School of Distance Education at AU will soon be rolling out its services for students online, making it the first digital university in the state.

Andhra University partnered with Tata Consultancy Services for the same and to reach out to a large number of students. This partnership is hoping to bring in a growth in the number of admissions in the coming years. The School of Distance Education will use the TCS iON to offer various services online. The services will include admissions, course content, examination management, administrative services and more.

The partnership is touted to go a long way in not just bringing Andhra University up to speed, but in also offering better and convenient services to students. More than 60,000 students study through distance at AU and once the system is put in place, it is expected to be of convenience to those living out of the city and state. Students will be able to enrol and access courses, pay their fees, get hall tickets and see results online. The partnership will avoid the students having to visit the university for everything. The same services will soon be extended to students studying regular courses too.

From the coming academic year, AU will use the digital platform to bring in admissions.
