Black money, assets of Andhra Pradesh public servant unearthed in Visakhapatnam

Black money and assets to the tune of 170 crores of top Andhra Pradesh public servant have been recovered by officials of ACB’s Central Investigation Unit (CIU) on Saturday at Visakhapatnam.

A staggering and huge amount of black money and assets which could cross 200 crores have been unearthed by officials of ACB’s Central Investigation Unit (CIU). The public servant in question is Gedela Lakshmi Ganeswara Rao

 who is a top official in survey and land records department of Andhra Pradesh. Ganeswara Rao had joined the department as a deputy surveyor over 30 years ago and had become inspector of survey. This is the tip of the iceberg and estimates and reports point at much more wealth and black money which will be revealed upon further investigation.

The raids conducted by officials of ACB’s Central Investigation Unit (CIU) happened simultaneously at 18 places in AP as well as Telengana.  The Andhra Pradesh public servant had been arrested at Visakhapatnam for cooking documents in records of government land worth 3,600 crore on the outskirts of the city. The raids happened at his house in Visakhapatnam at Rama Talkies road those of his near and dear ones as well. Raids were conducted across properties in Vizianagaram, East and West Godavari districts as well as Hyderabad to nab assets at places of his acquaintances. 30.36 acres of land in documents have been recovered.

19 flats in north Andhra and Godavari districts and five house sites, 34,000 in cash, one kg gold and 3.26-kg silver ornaments, household articles worth 10 lakh, Volvo, Innova and Honda City cars and two motorbikes and 10 lakh bank balance and old currency worth of 25,000 were in the list of recoveries.
