Beach Shacks Now Open At Thotlakonda

The APTDC put up summery beach shacks at the newly developed Thotlakonda Beach, opposite the Buddhist heritage site. The Haritha Beach Shacks which opened last Saturday have sit-outs facing the beach and palm trees swaying in the sea breeze.

Apart from the four shacks, the newly developed beach has a kitchen, two washrooms with bathing facilities and ample parking space for the visitors. Green lush lawns and walkways connect the shacks to the main road and rest of the facilities.

The shacks are open to parties and weddings. Visitors can pick from a choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes like fried rice, noodles, bajjis and more. While the beach lacks a play area for the kids or accomodation for those wishing to stay the night, it’s still a good place for families to spend some time together.

Those wishing to bring in their own food for the parties can do so while renting the shacks at Rs 5000 per shack. If not, Haritha Beach Shacks price their food at Rs 300 per plate of veg and Rs 400 per plate for non veg. Those getting food through Haritha needn’t pay for the shacks.

The Beach Tourism development has plans to open beachfront parks in Sagarnagar, Yendada and Mangamaripeta too and work is underway for the first two.
