Authorities will soon be taking measures to tighten the security at Kailasagiri in Visakhapatnam. In this regard, VMRDA (Visakhapatnam Metro Region Development Authority) Commissioner P Basant Kumar and Commissioner of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha visited the popular hilltop on Friday evening.
Telugu Museum, Ghat Road, Circular Rail Track, Ropeway, and other places were inspected by the officials. Mr. Kumar said that emphasis will be laid on the security of the people who visit Kailasagiri. He further informed that as many as 86 CC Cameras will be installed at the site. A control room will also be set up for the same. Reportedly, the officials have even decided to lay fencing around the unused area on the hill to keep a check on any accidents from taking place. The steps, from Hanumanthavaka, leading to Kailasagiri will also be abandoned.
It may be recalled that two youngsters had recently committed suicide at the popular tourist spot in Visakhapatnam. Earlier, in another displeasing sight for the tourists here, a human skull and dead body were discovered atop the hill after another suspected suicide.
The authorities and citizens hope that the tightened security would help in restricting such disturbing activities at Kailasagiri.
