Asia’s biggest real-time control room starts operations in Andhra Pradesh

Asia’s biggest real-time control room has begun operations in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the control room on Sunday morning in the first block of the secretariat at Velagapudi.

The news was shared by the Andhra Pradesh CM Facebook page. The post read, “CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated Real Time Governance State Center at the Secretariat today. The Center has been developed on a par with latest ICT features for tracking the progress of all the districts in the state, through e-governance.”

A report in the The New Indian Express stated that the main purpose of the Real-Time Governance (RTG) Centre is to handle all the important events and natural calamities on a real-time basis, leveraging e-governance technology and electronic communication.

The RTG centre comprises of a state centre and 13 district data centres. The centre will be receiving support from AP Fibernet Limited, AP towers, AP content corporation, AP Virtual classes corporation and Drones Corporation of AP.

Speaking after the inauguration, the Chief Minister said this innovative experiment will help for proper planning to increase the happiness of people using technology. He also said the centre will help to communicate with any officials and monitor the situation from the data centre. He said as majority of the departments and files were computerized, the centre would help to monitor the administration.
