A total of Rs. 36.65 lakhs was donated by the members of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF), Visakhapatnam Zone towards Chief Minister Relief Fund for Titli cyclone affected people of Srikakulam. The donation was handed over to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Visakhapatnam.
The first phase of Donation of Rs. 26 lakhs was handed over on 23 October, while the second phase of the donation, Rs. 10.65 lakhs was handed over on Thursday at Hotel Novotel Varun Beach.
In a press note, APCCIF mentioned that it feels disasters bring us face to face with the tragic side of human destiny. Also, they also present images of courage and resilience, of dignity and altruism. “Disasters show how anguished human beings can bounce back to better their lives, how genuine love and human sympathy can mitigate even the worst of human afflictions. As a gesture of solidarity, we hope every little bit of help can build a better, more resilient and more sustainable Srikakulam,” the note read.
