Amazon Prime Video to release these 4 Tamil films from Sept to Dec 2021

The curfew timings are relaxing, people are back to going to work, theatres are open at limited capacity but OTT platforms are still running quite strong. The fear of Covid-19 still makes many people stay at their homes, where they turn to OTT bingeing. No streaming platform wants to be left behind. Hence, a majority of them have started announcing their lineups for the coming few months or even the remainder of 2021. Disney+ Hotstar recently announced its lineup, consisting of 18 titles, till September 2021. Amazon Prime Video is not going to be left behind and is planning to rope in a lot of regional cinema. As part of this, four Tamil films will be released by Amazon Prime Video, one every month from September onwards. All

The most exciting of these releases is Jai Bhim which stars Suriya himself in the lead. Here are 4 Tamil films that are releasing soon on Amazon Prime Video:

#1 Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum

Shortened to RARA, this film is about a village and its struggle to figure out a future. It stars Krish, Ramya Pandian and Vani Bhojan, in the lead, and is directed by Arisil Moorthy. 

Amazon Prime Video announced on Thursday that this rural story will be released on the platform in September 2021. Along with this, a poster from the film was revealed.

#2 Udanpirappe

From the looks of it, Udanpirappe is going to be set in a religious backdrop and might be a love story. With M Sasikumar and Jyothika in the lead, it might be another rural story. The film is directed by Era Saravanan.

It has been revealed now that Udanpirappe will be released on Amazon Prime Video in October 2021. The poster of the film has Sasikumar and Jyothika on either side of a tree.

#3 Jai Bhim

After the immensely successful Soorarai Pottru, Suriya’s next standalone project is Jai Bhim. In this Tamil film, he will don a lawyer’s robes. The movie is being helmed by Tha Se Gnanavel and will also have Prakash Raj in a pivotal role. Not just that, Jai Bhim will also reunite the successful pairing of Suriya and Rajisha Vijayan.

Suriya announced the movie on Twitter this Thursday with the caption “Equality is our birthright!!!” One of the most anticipated Tamil films, it is slated for a November 2021 premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

#4 Oh My doG

For all dog lovers, here’s a Tamil movie that will capture the beautiful relationship between humans and dogs. Directed by Sarov Shanmugam, this movie stars the father-son duo of Arun Vijay and Arnav Vijay in the lead. Arun Vijay recently shared on Twitter how emotional it was to watch his son make acting debut.

With the tagline “Fur-iends through thick and thin”, the poster hinted at the heartwarming story this movie is going to tell. It is scheduled for a December 2021 release.
