3 long-made promises to Vizag that have kept the citizens waiting

Over the past few years, multiple promises have been made to Vizag. While a few of them have started taking roots, others haven’t materialised yet. These promises, if turned into reality soon, would expectedly bolster the city’s image and help it flourish with many more opportunities. Here are 3 such promises that eagerly awaited by the denizens of Vizag.

#1 Vizag Special Railway Zone

A long-made promise that has lured Vizag for the past 4 years. The recent past has seen several political parties and activists stage protests demanding a special railway zone to be catered to Vizag. While the recent reports suggest that it might be announced soon, given the turn of events in the past, nothing can be ascertained until an official announcement is made.

#2 Vizag Metro Rail

Another proposal that needs to be materialised soon. Despite of multiple studies and surveys, the project has failed to take off yet. Earlier, 5 companies had submitted their bids in race for the project. “The process of identification of the contractor for metro is at an advanced stage. We will issue the RFP notification to firms that filed Expression of Interest-cum-Request For Quotation bids, once the government gives a green signal,” AMRC MD NP Ramakrishna Reddy was quoted as saying.

#3 Kapuluppada IT Layout

The long-promised IT layout in Kapuluppada, in Visakhapatnam, is being constructed at a rapid pace. It has been reported that the layout, which will be featuring international standards and is likely to be inaugurated by October this year.
