World Telugu Museum

Looking to catch a glimpse of Telugu language’s splendid heritage? Then the ‘World Telugu Museum’ atop Kailasagiri is the right place for you. Allow us to break down the highlights of this cute little museum which was opened by CBN on the 19th of November 2015 with the sole purpose of showcasing the historical significance and evolution of the Telugu language.
1) The beautiful Kalamkari art work in the museum was done by the artists of Sri Kalahasti.

2) The magnificent woodworks, Paintings, sculptures and an audio-visual presentation of the history of Telugu are things which communicate to each and every visitor of this museum.

3) The entrance room room consists of the portraits of 70 prominent persons from Andhra Pradesh including Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, Dadasaheb Phalke awardees, Jnanpith awardees, litterateurs and freedom fighters.

4) The ten large Lepakshi paintings on the ceiling sure are elegant treat to the eyes.

5) The museum also displays Around 200 ‘Fibre Reinforce Plastic’ (FRP) sculptures including those of Telugu Thalli, Thousand Pillar Temple, Sri Krishnadevaraya and his Court Scene, poetess Molla, Lepakshi Nandi, Annamayya, Penukonda Fort, Mosque, Tirupati temple, various laws and stone sculptured coins, Rani Rudramadevi and history of the Kakatiyas, history of Bhadrachalam, Hyderabad and importance of Amaravathi region.

6) The rotating table which shows a 58-minute audio-visual presentation is a unique feature of this museum takes one on a fine ride through the history of Telugu language, since its birth.
