With American investment giant Franklin Templeton confirming to open up its campus in Visakhapatnam, 2018 seems to have started on a positive note for the city. However, a lot lies ahead to be accomplished which could help a great deal in establishing Visakhapatnam’s supremacy in the state. We interacted with a few people from the city and asked them what they wish for Vizag in 2018. Here’s what they had to say.
“I wish Vizag gets established as a major tourist destination this year. The events last year gave the city a major push and hope the government and authorities plan many more similar projects this year to make the city more vibrant.”
-Sivaji, Engineering Graduate
“Kudos to the GVMC authorities and the citizens for making Visakhapatnam achieve the 3rd spot in 2017’s Swachh Survekshan. I really wish that we all work together and put in concerted efforts in helping Vizag emerge as India’s cleanest city in 2018.”
-Sahithi, Software Engineer
“I was really happy in 2014 when the government had announced a special railway zone for Andhra Pradesh with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters. However, much to the disappointment of many, nothing major has materialised so far. I urge the government authorities to keep up their promise and take major strides towards Visakhapatnam Railway Zone this year.”
-Sai Vinayak, Businessman
“While it is good that many firms are expressing interest in setting up their industries in Visakhapatnam, I really wish the tranquility and ecosystem of the city aren’t affected in any way by these.”
-Swarna, Housewife
