Visakhapatnam

What do you plan to do on this new year eve at home in Visakhapatnam?

In 2021 things were slowly returning to almost normalcy, after almost a year long lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Then all of a sudden the second wave of COVID-19 occurred, which made people more alert and conscious. After the second wave, with more precautionary measures, institutions reopened and everyone got back to work. We all have been living through the pandemic for almost two years. Visakhapatnam City Police have imposed certain restrictions for New Year’s Eve celebrations in the city. As no public gatherings or celebrations are permitted in Visakhapatnam, we need to keep all our New Year celebration plans lowkey at home. The entire coastline stretch from Yarada to Bheemli, including Beach Road, will be closed from 6 pm onwards on 31 December, 2021.

Therefore, it’s advisable to confine our New Year Eve’s celebration plans to our homes. Here are some suggestions of how a family, or group of friends, may celebrate new year within the safe confines of their home in Visakhapatnam.

#1 Play games

Playing indoor board games like Scrabble, Monopoly, Business, and large scale jigsaw puzzles. Also, try your drawing skills with Pictionary. These are great group activities and may even turn into funny laughter sessions.

#2 Sing songs

Give a go at a karaoke session after dinner where one can sing, and play additional musical instruments, along with the audio. A family Antakshari, where the whole family would sing. And maybe some more fun games like Dumb Charades, where one can enact the roles and brush up on childhood theatre skills.

#3 New Year Resolutions

The family may discuss new resolutions with their dear ones. So that one could follow the resolutions, taking help from others, throughout the coming year.

#4 Cooking with family

. A fun activity would be the entire family pitching in putting together a New Year’s Eve feast. Each one can divide work like cutting the veggies, cooking, washing and arranging the cutlery.

#5 Stargazing on the Terrace

On a cold winter night, stargazing and spending quality time with family is the best way to welcome the new year. All in all the important objective is that one should take out time for their loved ones. The entire year gets caught in various commitments and schedules. This should be one night dedicated to one’s family and loved ones.

Yo! Vizag wishes all our readers, and their loved ones, a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2022
