Waltair Round Table 92 establishes series of schools in Visakhapatnam

Waltair Round Table (WRT) 92 in Visakhapatnam has been one of the strong pillars of Round Table India promoting service through fellowship. The table in the past has constructed a number of school buildings, organized medical camps, blood donation camps, and many other social service activities in and around the port city.

Continuing this mandate for community service, WRT 92 recently built an FTE (Freedom through education) school under GVMC Sweekaaram Education Society at Burma Colony near Madhavadhara, Visakhapatnam, dedicating it as ‘GVMC World Round Table 92 School’.

Constructed at a total project cost of about Rs.45 lakhs the new block has 9 additional classrooms which will help increase enrollment while also provide for more spacious classrooms.

The block was inaugurated 05 July 2018 by Sri Vivek Maheshwari, Area Chairman of Round Table chapter; Sri Pawan Kumar Gunturu, MD of Sprint Exports Pvt Ltd; with blessings of GVMC Commissioner Sri M. Hari Narayanan in presence of school officials, children and well-wishers.

About RTI

Round Table India is an organization of non-political and non-sectarian young men which strives to promote Service Through Fellowship. It is through the fellowship of endearing young men that this organization has served the community for the last 50 years with its presence across 75 cities and towns in India.

It decided to focus all its energy through its established network to build infrastructure to create and refurbish primary schools by establishing processes, systems and providing educational tools in the hands of young aspiring India. Thus in 1996 our long-term project “Freedom Through Education” was born. Round Table India has built almost One Classroom A Day for in the last 10 years.

Round Table India prides itself to be a Zero Overhead Organization. It ensures that every rupee donated/raised goes for Freedom through Education projects, while the administration costs are met with internal funding from members. This uniquely positions RTI differently from other service organizations, since it creates 100% value to its stakeholder.

Waltair Round Table (WRT) 92, which is part of RTI India, got chartered on 11^th of December 1988. WRT 92 has been one of the strong pillars of Round Table India promoting service through fellowship. It has constructed a number of school buildings, organized medical camps, blood donation camps, and many other social service activities in and around the city of destiny.

As part of the Freedom through Education initiative for the underprivileged children and drive for the literacy program, WRT 92 has constructed the following schools in the last two decades:

School at Tarluwada near Anandapuram at a cost of 1 lakh benefiting 100 people.
School at Madhurawada for disabled kids at a cost of around 4 lakhs benefiting more than 100 people for Madhurawada Blind School.
School at Gudilova worth 7 lakhs benefiting 300 people in association with Gudilova school and Navayuga Engineering College.
School at Kotha Valasa worth 2 lakhs benefiting more than 50 people.
School at Bheemili worth more than 5 lakhs benefiting 250 people.
School at Anandapuram near Bheemili worth 14 lakhs benefiting 700 people in association with Government of AP.
School at Relli Veedhi worth 20 lakhs more benefiting 800 people in Visakhapatnam in association with the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
School Kasimkota near Anakapalli worth 12 lakhs benefiting more than 500 people in association with Navayuga Engineering College.
School opposite VUDA park worth 3 lakhs in association with MLB trust.
School cum rehabilitation centre for physically challenged people worth 10 lakhs in association with Navayuga Engineering College at Zilla Parishad junction.
