The City of Destiny being one of leading tourist destination in the state for not only religious tourists but also the beaches being a major attraction for both the international and domestic tourists. To make the tourist have a happy and safe tour the city is all set to have an exclusive tourism police station with a dedicated force under the commissionerate . This being the first of its kind not only in the state but also in the country is surprising.
A special trained force consisting of 200 personnel, including officers are most likely to be recruited. Apart from having only one exclusive police station, there will be detachments with all communication equipments and vehicles at all tourist destination such as Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple, RTC Complex, Railway station, Simhachalam temple, Yarada Beach, Rushikonda, etc. A separate wing of police would deal with cases including harassment at tourist destination, theft, snatching, cab driver’s menace and missing complaints.
Apart from regular policing the tourism police will pay special attention to drowning incident at beaches. All this will be ensured by patrolling vehicles near airport, railway station, beaches and other places where the tourist movement is more. A separate helpline numbers are also being set up for the tourists.
