Unable to cope with bullying, Vizag teen commits suicide

A 15-year-old from Vizag district killed himself after not being able to cope with the alleged demons of bullying at his school.

Reportedly, U. Manideep, who went to his grandmother’s place on Thursday, was found hanging from a ceiling fan, leaving his family members in a state of utter disbelief.

Going into details as provided by Eenadu, tormented with being bullied by one his schoolmates, Manideep sought admission in a new school to get rid of the bully. However, trouble followed Manideep when the alleged tormentor too joined the same school and continued to distress the 10th-grade student by calling him names.

Manideep, who was mentioned as to be sensitive-natured, was subjugated to severe mental suffering, decided to take the extreme step by ending his life.

With the father of the deceased filing a complaint, the police have registered a case and are investigating to gain further insights into the unfortunate incident. The student accused of bullying Manideep was also interrogated by the cops.

On the other hand, the family and relatives of Manideep staged a protest in the school’s premises in Vizag alleging that no authorities from the school had come to see the boy’s dead body. Manideep’s father also urged that the guilty must be severely punished and measures must be taken to curb such incidents in the future.
