Vizag Steel’s Corporate entity, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has signed a MoU with Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL) to set up a pellet plant project adjacent to the steel plant in Visakhapatnam.
As per the reports, the pellets, which will be meeting the requirements of RINL, will be produced using the iron ore fines supplied from the mines of either Chattisgarh or Karnataka.
The two companies informed that the initial capacity of the plant will be 1.2 million tonnes per year, which could be expanded further depending on the requirements.
Earlier, the Central government has agreed upon setting up an integrated steel plant in Kadapa and cold rolled coils steels plant in Visakhapatnam.
