In a rather bizarre incident at the railway station in Vizag, around forty passengers, bound to Hyderabad on the Visakhapatnam-Kachiguda special train on Monday evening, ended up missing it after confusion over platform number.
The train was scheduled to leave from Vizag railway station at 7:45 pm. With a travel time of ten hours and forty-five minutes, the Visakhapatnam-Kachiguda Express was started as a summer special to facilitate holiday travel to Hyderabad. Reportedly, these passengers claimed that there was no public announcement regarding the platform number from where the train was departing.
The passengers, in the confusion about the platform number, got the information only after the train had departed. They requested the platform officials to make alternate arrangements for them. Later, the officials notified that their travel arrangements have been made on Visakha Express later in the night.
