Vizag Railway Station adjudged the Most Tourist Friendly Station in AP

The run up to the holidays and new year is bringing good news to Vizag in many different ways. Visakhapatnam Railway Station added another feather into its cap. It has been adjudged the Most Tourist friendly Railway Station by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA). This comes as a welcome distinction after getting number one railway station award in cleanliness among A1 category stations in Indian Railways declared by Ministry of Railways. This announcement came from Manager (HR) of APTA in the season of Tourism Day on September 27th. The state is organizing State Tourism Annual Excellence Awards-2017.

The occasion will recognize achievements made by various organizations in their own fields. This is aimed at providing encouragement and a mission for all to impact positively the tourism map of AP. The ‘World tourism Day’ will be an important one and we will be watching out. This year the theme of the Tourism Day is ‘Sustainable Tourism –a Tool for Development’.

This achievement is of no small measure. It is a big deal for us as a city and for the officials who are tirelessly working to better the current state of facilities. Vizag is growing in leaps and bounds. The State Tourism Annual Excellence Awards-2017 will be held on the World Tourism Day on September 27 at the RK Beach. It is here that Vizag will be awarded the ‘Most Tourist friendly Railway Station’.
