There have been instances in the past where some officials have used their authority in a wrong way. Monday afternoon saw another such incident come into light in the city. This time it was a police man who was in the spotlight.
The Dwaraka Nagar signal was the stage where this ugly incident took place. Maharani Peta’s ASI, Mr. Murahari Rao was traveling from diamond park to the bus stand and had encountered the red signal at the junction. At the same time, people traveling from bus stand to gurudwara were given the green signal and, as expected, started moving. Instead of stopping on the red signal, Rao drove ahead and in this sequence, got his car hit by a youngster.
Rao got infuriated by this and stopped his car right in the middle of the road. He lashed out at the youngster and started abusing him. Seeing this, the public started questioning the police as to why was the youngster being scolded when it was actually the ASI’s fault. To this, Rao retaliated by mentioning the fact that he was an SI and no one can question him!
This incident caused serious inconvenience to the traffic and the public present at the junction. A member of B.J.Y.M (Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha), Adari Kishore, who was also struck in this traffic, had come forward to request Rao to not cause inconvenience to the traffic. Shockingly, the ASI behaved rudely even with Kishore.
With this, Kishore captured pics of the cop’s vehicle which was parked right in the middle of the road. He then sent these photos to the City’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. T Yoganand, and informed him regarding the happening. The CP immediately responded to this and ordered Dwaraka Nagar’s ACP, Mr. Ramachandra Rao, to investigate this matter.
Later, CP Yoganand texted Kishore informing him that action will be taken against Murahari Rao for the misusage of his power. This immediate action by the Commissioner is being much appreciated by the city’s public.
