[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Vizagites can now lodge police complaints through WhatsApp. The Visakhapatnam Rural Police launched this facility on Wednesday. The feature saves time for the complainant, as it is a quicker way to lodge complaints for cases like eve teasing, snatching and ragging.
The superintendent, Rahul Dev Sharma will be the admin and it will be managed by a team of specially trained policemen, round the clock. After receiving the complaint the policemen alert the concerned police officer who will respond within 15-30 minutes and if the complaint is cognizable he will visit the house of the complainant to file an FIR.
Complaints can be lodged through WhatsApp on 8142003339.
The police have warned that necessary action will be taken if the number is used to create a nuisance.
