Civil Supply Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Prathipati Pulla Rao conducted a sudden check in Indian Oil Petrol Bunk near Raitu Bazaar at Seethammadhara, Vizag. On refilling the fuel 3 times in a row, the Minister found out varying results in the measurements of the petrol.
After listening to the people around regarding the problems they are facing, the Minister questioned the management of the bunk about the varying measurements of petrol. For the first filling for 1 litres, 60 millilitres of petrol went missing, 30 millilitres in the second refilling and 10 millilitres in the third.
“Due to this, the people in the city must be facing a lot of loss in money”, Pulla Rao said.
The Minister ordered the officials of Andhra Pradesh Department of Legal Metrology to take necessary actions against the bunk management. He also said that no petrol bunk in the city will not be spared if found cheating the customers. ” A bunk in Vijayawada has been seized for a year due to illegal activities”, the Minister mentioned.
On the orders from the Minister, the officials have collected 12 fuel samples from the Seetammadhara bunk to check on the purity and quantity of the fuel. An action would be taken after examining the samples.
People have also raised complaints about the bunk staff in terms of discipline and being rude.
The officials mentioned that every bunk in Vizag would be examined regarding the quantity and quality of the fuels.
