Vizag city's girl wins chess championship
Vizag’s girl, Kolagatla Alana Meenakshi, has won the girl’s champion title in the 32nd Andhra Pradesh State under-7 Chess Championship.
The championship was held from June 1 to June 3 in Rajamahendravaram. Meenakshi has been titled as the Champion in the girl’s Under-7 category. She defeated all her seven opponents in the seven rounds she competed in.
Also, Meenakshi is going to represent Andhra Pradesh State in the 32nd National Championship to be held in Karnataka, from July 14 to July 23.
Visakhapatnam District Chess Association Secretary, Cheela Ramesh and other senior players have praised Meenakshi for the accolade and wished her success for the upcoming Nationals and also for her long run in the future.
