You might have come across some bizarre punishments faced by defaulters for not repaying the borrowed money. However, a recent act by a financier in Vizag might just beat them all with its savagery.
K. Penta Rao, a small-time financer from Paderu, in Vizag, reportedly lent an amount of Rs 20,000 to G. Ratnam, who runs a small fast food stall near Ambedkar center in the village.
Ratnam, who lost her husband 7 years ago, lives with her two children in Paderu. Reports claimed that the fast food stall owner repaid about Rs.10,000 of the loan that she had taken from the financer in the form of installments. However, she found it difficult to repay the remaining amount due to her ill health and diminished sales for the past few weeks.
Things turned sour when Rao persisted that Ratnam repays the balance amount, along with interest, despite her inability to gather funds for the repayment. After a heated argument, things escalated quickly as Rao lost control and forced the woman’s face into piping hot boiling oil at her fast food centre, before fleeing away from the spot.
The nearby people admitted Ratnam to a hospital. The financier was later nabbed by the police for his heinous act.
